End of the week

Another week gone. Still LOTS of work left to be done so looks like I'll be sitting here doing some work over the weekend. There is one week left before induction - that is, the week when students are back. The week after is when lectures start so I have one week left.

Actually - its 4 days. Monday is an important all day meeting which I have to go to. Its actually 'useful' if a few people don't argue little stupid points and waste time.

I got a 'by' from the Health and Safety meeting on Wednesday - one of the systems I'm writing is a 'online safety documentation system'. Its done apart from putting it in the faculty 'colours'. As we haven't got a template of the new faculty look I'm reduced to combing through the main website code. Luckily thanks to Firefox and the Web Developers Toolbar that helps - but its stil a drag to do. So - thats my excuse and my manager (who also is the chair of that meeting) is happy with that.

Again, I find myself quoting from Shakespeare's Henry V

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more,
Or close the wall up with our English dead!
In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility;
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger:
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood

I usually use this when going to play a game of badminton when I'm starting to feel a tad 'battered' and tired.

The GOOD thing is that the memory I ordered arrived and now the webserver at work is a little happier. Once I order and receive the new larger harddrives then that server is being formatted and installed with the latest Solaris 10 release. But thats more work and quite an indepth job. I have 8 laptops to configure and install before I'm considering that task.
