Oh well, at least I have enough for tea

I was going to post earlier - but didn't. It was about a quick visit to the city centre - I walked in, got my hair cut and walked home. The traffic was almost at gridlock - hardly moving in places.

Now, not too long ago I flushed the toilet and there was nothing - so I checked the valve in it. I've had a little bit of trouble with that valve so I make sure it wasn't stick.

It wasn't - I then checked the cold water and nothing.......

So, I have a search around the net - I now know what has happened and why there was so much traffic in the city centre.

This is the reason why

This route is my main route to work (although I have useful alternates), the reason I have no mains water and why there was so much traffic.

Luckily the hot water tank still has some water in so I have enough to keep me going for a bit. I've turned the water heater off so it doesn't break and hopefully they'll have the pipe fixed before I run out of enough water to make tea........

Edit: Water now back on (discovered it at 10.10pm) - they've either repaired the problem or rerouted (the latter is more likely). Now I have the fun of getting the air out of the pipes - not too hard though.
