Amusing as it wasn't an emergency...

I've spent the last couple of work days at a different campus as we're setting up for the 'Creative Expresive Arts' show. Its a get as many techies as possible over and do lots of things with powerdrills, hammers, saws etc. Its a nice change to the normal 'work' stuff but is very tiring....

Anyway, we were heading to get some lunch (the traditional visit to the chippie) and we got inside the lift. The 'large' lift wasn't working so we ended up in the smaller one. One of the techies (not me) accidentally lent on part of the lift with all the buttons. He hit several including the 'alarm' button.

We thought we had gotten away with it - but a few seconds later the lift telephoned the 'alert' number. It rang away and an automated voice said "we're sorry we cannot answer the call at the moment, please leave a message after the tone". The person who had accidentally hit the button said "sorry, but my fat arse accidentally hit the alarm button". Another techie (again not me, I was too busy trying not to laugh), added some sarcastic comments and we made our escape.

Luckily it wasn't a real emergency.....
